The Park Samui is a residence on the northeast of the island, in Choeng Mon bay: low-rise blocks around the pools, green grounds, parking and security. Units are studios and one- to two-bedroom apartments with a kitchen area and a balcony; the feel is closer to a resort than to a city condo.
Choeng Mon is a snug bay with a gentle entry into the water, which is why families choose it. Wat Plai Laem with its 18-armed Guanyin is nearby, as are the quiet coves of Thongson Bay; the airport is 10 minutes away and Chaweng about 15. The honest downside: the district has little life of its own, so markets, bars and serious shopping mean a trip to Chaweng or Bophut. Rent: studios from ~$425/month and from ~$28/night.
Best for: Families with children and anyone who wants a calm bay 10 minutes from the airport and 15 from Chaweng.

Is it suitable for a holiday with kids?
Yes: Choeng Mon has a gentle entry and calm water, and the grounds have pools and greenery. There's a small islet in the bay you can walk out to along a sandbar at low tide.
How far is Chaweng?
About 15 minutes by car on ring road 4169 — that's where people go for the Central Samui mall, the night market and the bars. Songthaews along the ring road cost 50–100 THB during the day.
